Commencement of distribution of crop insurance worth 1700 crores

Insurance companies in the state have been granted approval to distribute an initial sum of approximately 1700 crore rupees as the first installment of crop insurance. This benefit is expected to reach around 35 lakh farmers in diverse districts of the state. The insurance amount will be directly disbursed to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts by the respective insurance companies. As a result, farmers’ Diwali is expected to be prosperous. The distribution of this insurance is set to begin with 25% as the initial installment. Some districts have filed appeals against crop insurance companies. After the completion of hearings on these appeals, there will be a further increase in the number of beneficiary farmers and the amount of insurance.

The state government initially launched the crop insurance scheme at the rate of 1 rupee. Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde announced through a tweet that this initiative has been successful, with 1.71 crore farmers in the state contributing 1 rupee each to fulfill their insurance. Today, the distribution of the first installment of crop insurance, totaling 1700 crore rupees, has begun. I am delighted by this news. Along with this, the results of the appeals and other issues will be resolved soon. Dhananjay Munde also mentioned that there will be an expected increase in the number of beneficiaries and the amount of benefits in the next installment.
